Ella's Hospital Stay

On January 29th Miss Ella had her 3rd visit to the ER and was admitted for the 3rd time for dehydration, poor little munchkin! Ella had a touch of the stomach flu and began vomiting Thursday late afternoon. She proceeded to get sick throughout the night until about 11:00 PM. When Ella woke up Friday morning she was very lethargic, she couldn't keep her eyes open, her mouth was dry and when she cried there were no tears. After experiencing this two other times I knew she had to get to the ER so that is what I did. After examining her and drawing blood they discovered Ella's CO2 level was very low, a 14 to be exact. The low normal CO2 level is a 22-23 so they immediately started an IV and began getting our room ready for her to stay. Ella began running a fever while we were there so that was one more thing we had to worry about. Ella is such a trooper, what an amazingly brave child she is!
