Yesterday afternoon we took Ella to Children's Mercy Hospital downtown for our long awaited renal appointment. When I was 20 some weeks pregnant the ultrasound showed Ella had fluid on both of her kidneys. Since Ella was born we have gone to Children's Mercy every six months to have follow up ultrasounds to check the fluid levels and have her kidneys measured. At our last appointment we found out that her left kidney had resolved itself of the fluids so it was her right kidney now we had to focus on. We have never had any answers as to why the fluid was there or what needed to be done to get rid of it. All of our questions and concerns were answered yesterday, thank goodness! We found out that Ella is going to be just fine, no surgery which was a HUGE relief! The specialist compared it to being like a car driving 2 mph over the speed limit, they will not get pulled over for that. All that we can say is God is great and he has answered our prayers! The doctor told us to enjoy our beautiful baby girl!
